Our Multi-year partner

Maybank Islamic

Since 2012, the Institut Jantung Negara has entered into the 5-year collaboration with Maybank Islamic Berhad to treat paediatric heart patients from Malaysia and across ASEAN.

Under the collaboration, Maybank Islamic has initially pledged a contribution of RM1.5 million to IJN which was further increased by another RM1.3 million in 2014.
In September 2014, Maybank Islamic organised an event called ‘Cycle Save a Child’s Heart’ to raise additional funds of RM50,000, making the total contribution by Maybank Islamic to RM2.85 million. To date, Maybank Islamic’s contribution has benefitted 40 young heart patients, including 5 patients from Indonesia and by the end of 2016, a total of 58 paediatric patients would have received the heart surgeries. Of the 58 patients, 18 will be regional patients from the countries where Maybank has its presence.
Maybank Islamic is the first Islamic bank in the country to have organised a charity activity of such to raise additional funds for paediatric heart patients, delivering its Group brand promise of humanising financial services. The Bank also believes that collaborating with other countries in the region will also indirectly support the Malaysian government’s aspiration to promote the country as a preferred medical hub.
Maybank Islamic is the largest Islamic Bank in ASEAN and the world’s third largest, with a total asset size exceeding US$42 billion as at December 31, 2014. As a global leader in Islamic finance, Maybank Islamic continues to spearhead the Islamic banking and finance industry through cross-border business, regional leadership in retail and investment banking in Southeast Asia and the development of new, innovative and competitive propositions. Its portfolio of diversified products and services are available through a network of over 400 Maybank branches in Malaysia, as well as in Indonesia, Singapore, Hong Kong, London and Bahrain.
